Depends on what the use is...for hunting, rifle scopes all the way (know your local laws, some states ban the use of illuminated and/or laser optics for hunting purposes)...laser optics are more appropriate for tactical/defense purposes but again not all the time...holographic sights and/or open iron sights can also be more appropriate depending on the use/environment...open sights also have a much lower failure rate.
