Brass
Target rifles are a different animal altogether. They have custom chambers and depending on the reamer may require neck turning just to chamber a round. The .280 I mentioned earlier isn't a finicky rifle by any means. In my younger years I weight sorted all my brass, neck turned it, fire-formed, & meticulously so that each piece would be the exact same OAL. Then I started assembling loads by weight sorting and trimming. All this showed me that weight sorted, trimmed brass shot just as well as fire-formed, neck turned brass. My rifle has a Douglas barrel & was cut with a reamer to be able to shoot factory ammo if needed. I have a 25-06 with a Broughton barrel and it's the same story. So, just save yourself all the time in the world and enjoy your rifle and reloading for it. I do feel a sense of pride when I take a nice Buck with a handload versus factory fodder!
