the same thing happened to me and to of my cousins in Ga. a few years back.

we were there well befor first light.about a hr. later a guy comes by me,I whisle and he walks up,I tell him there are two other guys on this ridge.he walks away toward Buddy,and in about 5 min I hear a shot.I see orange going through the trees back the way the guy came from.
Later on we get back together Buddy,Bermon,and myslef.it seems the guy get to where Buddy was and he told him the same thing I did.the guy walks anout 50 yards ahead of Buddy and sets down against a big pine tree.well Buddy is hot by now,he picks a tree about 15 yards ahead of the guy and 15 yards to one side and blasted the bark off and hollered shot him he' s a big one...........needless to say the guy left in a hurry.[]

in your friends case I would do the same;start shooting and holler shot him;which way did he go;all the while I would be like CD said naked.[]
