crnewell - If you don't remember anything else remember this: Its not the size of the wound channel but the location of the wound. A field tip through both lungs will kill an animal. Now a larger wound channel will make for an easier blood trail provided it is a good hit.
An animal hit in the guts will not bleed much no matter how big the wound is. You need to make proper shot placement to quickly and humanely kill your quarry.
