From what info. I've been able to dig up, it appears that the taller .854 sight (17ATC) is the correct match for the original T/C vernier tang sight....time will tell.

Interestingly enough, I just ran across an old T/C catalog #8 (1981 I believe) and both sights are listed as accessories. The vernier tang sight sold for $19.50 and the globe front sight with inserts sold for $11.00!!!
