extended choke
with all the chokes out it still not an exact science. the barrel is still a big variable. most of the time extended tubes work better because they provide a more gradual constriction of the shot string. and some have a provision to pull the wad back. your factory tube might pattern best and if you don't have either sights or optics on your gun and it isn't patterning where the the bead lines up then the tighter the pattern is the more chance you have of missing, especially at close range. sight in and pattern first then work on the tube.
