You better believe it is!!!! There is a reason why Remington has kept the design for nearly 62 years. When something isn't broken, they are not going to fix it. The 870 replaced the Remington model 31 in 1950 and has become a common household name for those in the hunting community. Congrats, you got yourself a reputable and reliable firearm. I have 5 870's. 3 Wingmasters and 2 express magnums. ( Can you tell that I like my 870's ?)
