Here are some pictures. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is. My dad thought it looked like Walnut to him but he did also say he thought they usually used Curly Maple on these stocks but he said didn't think that's what it is....
oh yea... we did notice a couple very small nicks that must have gotten there when a relative moved the rifle either to or from storage. go figure...
