I know lots of people use dot style scopes and have good luck with them. I bought a tru-glo 2 years ago, and on my second hunting trip I jumped a longbeard up about 25-30 yards away in a cutover. Needless to say I couldn't even take the give-me shot because you have to turn the sights on! That sight spent the rest of the season rolling around behind the seat of my truck! LOL! Just something to think about.
My reciever was tapped so I installed it myself.
