It's unAmerican to not like a Renegade!
One option for the finish that I really like it to apply several very thin coats of MINWAX clear satin water based Polycrylic. Don't use a brush. Wipe it on (again,
very thin) with a clean cotton cloth. I usually apply five or six coats and wet sand lightly between coats with 600 grit wet/dry paper.
