To my knowledge, there has never been a case of CWD in humans or any other animal that feeds on deer, anywhere, even where CWD has existed for years. There are some that say it's been around probably since the '50's. While theory is great, the facts remain. I read of a study where it appears that mountain lions take a high percentage of CWD infected animals where it exists in their range. Mountain lion numbers are increasing.
