Default RE: Tikka Accuracy

James B.

I own two Tikka' s. One in a 7mm mag and the other is a 25/06. Both of them are Whitetails. Also, I just recently purchased a Wincherster Model 70 in the .300 WSM. I have fired many rounds through all three of them and the 25/06 and 7mm mag has shown more accuracy and consistancy than the Model 70. At times I have managed a 3 shot clover leaf group with the 25/06 (my handloads) and a consistant .5 moa with the 7mm mag (my handloads), all shot at 100 yrds. The best I have managed with the .300 WSM is .80 moa. Not bad considering it was with factory ammo. Allbeit Winchester ammunition, it is still fairly good. I would have to recommend the Tikka rifles not just for accuracy purposes but also because of how smooth the action is and how easy it is to make adjustments to the trigger pull. The Model 70' s action felt like an unfolding lawn chair everytime I work it and you have to have an engineering degree to adjust the trigger. I guess I am just spoiled on the Tikka' s
