Or should I change out the choke and/or barrel. I prefer to keep the cost low and I'm kind of on a time crunch so If I can get away with not having to change out the barrel that would be great. The choke I can handle. Also what kind of slugs should I use with the new setup if you suggest a different choke and or barrel??
Secondly, I will have my S&W 629 .44 mag with 6.5 barrel with me as a side-arm. What would you suggest for ammo in it?
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
I agree with hunt12ga on trade out the chokes and try some punkin ball slugs and go from there. Try all you can get your hands on and see which ones work best. In the 44 mag, use handcast lead rounds and not hollowpoint for they may not expand like either you want or need. I shoot large, flat point handcast and they flat slam a hog!!!!! Plows through everything and crushes bone like a sledge hammer!!!!!!!! I load a 240grn handcast with gas check over Aliant 2400 powder and it flattens hogs!!!!!
