While on stand, standing on a granite boulder (they have some in the "Granite State"), caught some movement in some thick cover and then had these come out... fairly big sow (250 - 285 lbs. judging from her length) and four cubs... unusual since it's usually twins or occasionally triplets...she must have adopted one or two... all half-grown, about 100 lbs or so... she was 8' feet away when I took the one pic and the closest cub then moved to right under my feet... she was not happy and turned... we discussed it... the cub caught a whiff and spooked a little and she moved them off... a real treat to have 5 bears within 3 yards...
