There's no issue with using a mouth grunt or such to stop a deer. Whether it is to stop the deer so that it will be in one of your shooting lanes or just to give you the stationary target.

I mean have you ever seen a deer immediately blast off on any such noise. I doubt it. They usually stop/listen/look. Deer, like humans hear better when they aren't walking and crunching leaves, etc...
