Bigcountry is right. Hodgen works differently in smaller cases being a slower burning powder. I use IMR 4831 in my 270 and H 4831 in my 300 win mag. You can load a lot more IMR 4831 in a case vs H 4831 because it's smaller pellet size and it burns faster and causes more pressure. But in the 270 win it's a good powder to use. You can fill the case close to where the bullet seats an have a great load. I would stay 59 grs or under of IMR 4831 until you've test a few rounds through your rifle. Then you can start tuning your load from there. One 270 win I have likes 58.6 grains of IMR 4831 and another 270 win is very accurate at 59.9 grains. Both are loaded with 130 gr bullets. You may want to start at a lower powder charge using 140 grain bullets. I have not loaded any 140's yet nor probably ever will unless I get a new rifle.
