Katy took a 3rd running with the "teenagers" yesterday in Amateur Derby at the CNEBC trial in East Windsor, CT. She handled great- had a back
(which she held steady to the shot and let the other handler walk past her as I was 20 yards behind) and had a real stylish find that she held steady to shot. I didn't see the run for the dog who won (a Brit), but the second place dog (another Brit) was Katy's bracemate and both her & Katy were to the front the whole time they were down. Katy finished a bit stronger imho- hunting further to the front. That said, I'm still happy that the judges decided to use Katy in her first foray in Derby stakes.
