Excellent bullet.I've used them with excellent results hunting moose with my 3006.However I to feel they aren't necessary for hunting deer and black bear in the caliber and weight your hunting bear.In that caliber a nosler partition would suffice.I have used one on a deer while elk hunting and animal did die after a long sprint the reason being the bulet penciled through the lungs and exited.If that happens on a bear it could possibly be a problem.Mind you a 35 whelen wil punch a bigger hole in the animal so it might not be an issue at all.
