I don't even like to blow locators before season. If its a nice morning, they'll probbaly already be gobbling on their own. Try to play it as low key as possible. Don't get too close, wear camo, move slowly, and use your binocs as much as possible. I don't know how long till your season opens, but if it's more than a few weeks away, scouting now isn't as effective and they'll probably change movement patterns on ya 'tween now and then. Of course, nuthin wrong with gettin out and enjoying the show! If your season is just around the corner, try to identify the roost locations, flydown areas, early morning feeding/ breeding/strutting zones, and finally the late morning strut zones...It's alot of info to gather but it helps solve the riddle of where you need to be to intercept 'em.
