The weather has been crazy down here. We've had more consecutive cold days than I can remember. It did warm up a bit around the time the birds were seen.
I've seen them gobble during November & December deer season. I even had one gobble one time at a rattle bag while I was using it. I know they are unpredictable at best. I hope this is a sign of good things to come. My season last year was full of a lot of near misses. Seemed like I found a way to mess it up every time.
I also hunted quite a bit of public ground and found some willing folks to help me mess it up too.
None of it was intentional, so I just had to chalk it up to a valuable learning experience.
