Yeah, but the birdies love the mature hardwods, and the PGC and DCNR really don't want to timber more when the market is down. Translated: Birdies and dollar bills trump improving the habitat. Advice to private landowners...select cut like hell, and sell firewood, not lumber wood. Rising electric and fuel prices have more and more people burning wood. Not gonnna get rich, but you'll improve your hunting land and make a little $ for your time.
