Had only two days I could hunt before DC trip and so I could not get picky. I put a stand up where I got the doe with an arrow as it appeared a number of deer were using the bed ground next to it. This morning I was watching where the does go through the food plot to get to the bed ground and when I looked around here is this buck walking away from me at about 35 yds.
I took the long angle shot behind the short ribs to the opposite shoulder. [one of these days I will learn not to hold so close to the bone of that shoulder. I hit him with 140 gr Blackhorn and a 200gr Lehigh. The Lehigh literally blew up the liver went through the lungs and almost tore the heart in half. It got 26 inches of penetration in the deer and broke the shoulder bone and was sticking in the skin on the outside edge of the shoulder. I will put a few picture on.
