we have always measured our deer and compared them to the scales at the tagging stations. its always w/ in a few pounds!
however, that chart is very vague. it makes a differance in where you live.
now this formula is for field dressed weight only so combined w/ that chart i think it would be interesting.
in the south, including texas you take the circumferencex 5.6, minus 94 to get field dressed weight.
in the midwest its C x 7.7 minus 178 =dressed weight
anywheres else, especially penn. is C x6.5 minus 120 = dresed weight
the tape i carry reads like this
42" 145lbs
43" 153lbs
44" 160lbs
47" 184lbs
48" 192lbs ...... so on and so forth. my tape is for the the midwest.
i have a tape made for the north east and its like i said, always within 4 or 5 lbs
