The ideal length for a 50 caliber bullet to be shot at 2000FPS in a 1-28 twist is 1.2 inches. Now we all know that it is easy to under stabilize a bullet so it wont shoot strait but that you can get away with some over stabilization.the Thor 250 gr at least I think what they sent was the 250 gr is a bit under an inch. The more you shorten the bullet the slower you have to shoot it. Every thing considered if I was going to try to make the 250 lighter I would try to do it with out losing much length. Lee
