Same O' - Same O' here... Picked up a nice little buck near the end of regular rifle season with the Omeag and the normal .452/260 grain Nosler Partition in an HPH-24 pushed along by 110 grains of T7-2f. Where you see him laying is where he was shot...

Had a second X-tra Does tag and while my hunting partner was hunting Elk during or ML season I was acting a heard dog but yet looking for possible a nice doe... carried a 30-30 during that week. Did see several does but never pulled the trigger - I did, however, shouldered on several doe and shot them by saying 'Bang! - but none of them fell and I did not want to track em... Actaully what the problem was I could not find anyone in the family that wanted the meat.

Late season cow Elk season, I switched rifles to a the Knight DISC Extreme. For Elk I use a Nosler .458/300 grain Partiton Protected Point, a MMP Orange .457-.458/50 cal sabot on top of a 120 grains of T7-2f.

It was a fairly warm and dry late season - starting in December... didn't really get after it until the end of the second week of the season, when it started snowing. Then it really never stopped snowing - by the time I could back out there - right after Christmas - the snow was up to my knees. That trip I spooted a group of 5 cows coming across the bottom 'deer draw' - I knew they would walk over the smal ridge and come half way up 'Larch Snag Draw' so I head over the top and down into the the draw to get setup for the ambush near the 'Larch Snag' Waited quiite a bit of time and they never showed up... Circled down below to see if I could cut their tracks... They didn't come out below either. walked around underneath where I had first spotted them found their tracks and then followed them up the ridge right between the two draws - right across my tracks and where I was sitting when I first spotted them. If I had just stayed where I was I might have a whole different ending to this story. Moral 'outsmarted by a bunch of cows'

Then the next trip out to the same arear the snow was above the knees... abd still snowing.... - I hate to say - i was snowed out... I hate getting old...
