When we speak of necessary energy for a whitetail deer projectile... what is the considered magic number? The reason I ask is, I was talking with a person about roundball once and they told me that at 100 yards the .50 ball did not reach the magic number. Yet they kill deer just fine. Even this 185 grain bullet if it IS PLACED IN THE RIGHT PLACE, I see no reason why it would not reach a vital organ. Also with the design of the Lehigh bullet, if it seperated at all and smaller pieces did come off into other organs, I see no reason why it would not work.
