RE: Who takes this shot on an Elk
This was a novelty shot at 3d shoot. Three arrows to hit the vitals and win a shirt. My fletching hit my sight on the first shot set at 105yrds.
Next two shots I set it at 100yrds and aimed at the far top back of his hip and let it fly. Hit the vitals twice after that. Lucky shoot for sure on my part. Wind was gusting as you can the white caps on the lake.
These shots can be made. Its up to each hunter to decide if its something he would consider. Long shots are fun to shoot and practice.
With good form and exacution some can shoot good groups at these distances.
My farthest shot to date was 42 yards on a whitetail.
For my trip to Colorado hunting. I was practiced out to 70yrds the month before and felt good with that shot on an Elk. But never got a chance at a shot.[:@]
