Wow Kevin it's always great to see somebody jump down the throat of another hunter, it's really refreshing after seeing all of the positive posts on this site. There's no law against planting food plots, whether it's Whitetail Imperial clover or hostas. And as far as this post being in the wildlife management forum, even you have to admit this is basically a food plot forum, and this fits into that category, if you don't like it then don't click on it.
So planting
flowers is "food plotting" now? The following is from your own state regulations FAQ page:
In areas where deer baiting is not allowed, what CAN I USE to attract deer closer to my stand if I can’t use bait?
Use of the following are legal statewide:
[ul][*]Decoys[*]Scents[*]Naturally occurring material (such as acorns), deposited by natural vegetation, that is not collected and relocated in any manner.[*]Crops planted and left standing as wildlife food plots.[*]Material deposited solely as a result of normal agricultural or gardening practices and not collected and relocated for hunting or other purposes.[/ul]
Notice carefully that it says "Crops planted and left standing.", not "Hostas planted andleft standing" as hostas are not considered crop plants outside of the nursery trade and are normally protected by a greenhouse. Pay particular attention to the next one dealing with relocatingag and garden items for hunting purposes, if Bucksniper lives in a "no baiting" county he could be cited and fined for hunting over those flowers. It's baiting any way you choose to slice it, not food plotting, call it what it really is.I stand by my statement, and I'll post where I choose, junior.
