Default adjusting new rest

I put a RipCord rest on my AlphaMax 35 bow andadjusted the rest and theD-loop so that the arrow covered the Berger button. On the release, the rest comes down and smacks the shelf on the riser and makes a bunch of noise. If I were to raise the rest and adjust the D-loop, the arrow would be way above the Berger button. This wouldn't be the correct way to set this bow up, would it? Am I going to have to use moleskin to quiet the rest slapping the shelf or go to a different rest?
