Default Wisconsin youth hunt success!

Here's a picture of my son's bird, 20 lbs., 7/8" spurs, and 8.5" beard, 7am Easter Sunday. We had a great hunt, birds gobbling like crazy from 5:45 am but quiet after flydown. A couple hens came through the small field where we set up at 6am, then at 6:30 a gobble from the woods to the south. Using slate, box and mouth calls we kept up a steady dialogue with what sounded like multiple Toms for about 20 minutes. They went silent for about 5-10 minutes, no response to 2 series of yelps. My son and I decided they were on the move and sat quiet hoping they were coming our way. At 7am the loudest gobble we've ever heard came from the edge of the woods, and 3 Toms were running straight to our decoys. My son took the leader after waiting for them to separate, no more than a minute later. Our setup included a foam hen and my version of Pretty Boy, a rubber jake with an old fan and wings attached and a brightly painted head.
