I have an old Parker Hale chambered in 270-winchester & a Ruger M-77 chambered in in 25-06.
I am thinking about taking one of them into a gunsmith and get it rechambered into a 338-06?
Any idea on how much this would cost?
You could not have made a better choice. The .338/'06 is superb! You could get it rebored to .338" caliber then rechamber it. The present chamber would clean up pretty well.
Another choice would be the .338 Gibbs, a "super" improved '06 case. Since you are a reloader, this would work out well for you. The Gibbs round gives near .338 Win. performance from '06 brass.
