Thanks guys. Chet - both the 45 barrels for the Hawken and the Renegade shoot 200 gr .400" XTPs with 80 gr of Pyrodex P really well. That will be my hunting load for deer.
But I have to admit, I think this 50 gr load of Pyrodex P and the 150 gr Nosler bullet will be a dynamite turkey and squirrel killer.
I still don't have the patchbox done yet so I was shooting it today without it installed. (I'm lefty) My cheek is plenty high enough on the stock that it didn't matter.
This stock came out so pretty that it gets extra care when handling. I even put my truck mat down on the ground to protect the barss butt plate. Once the patchbox is done the pictures will be posted.
Oh, while I'm thinking about it, I wanted to tell you that I whited out the red fiber optic front sight so I wouldn't have that double image. I think that improved my sighting today.
