Default RE: Need Advice - Arrow selection for my AM32

ORIGINAL: MichiganWhitetails74

I appreciate your time and dedication..all of you guys..thanks...

Now ..another question for interpretation...I always get this mixed up.

You have raw arrow length and then you have REAL arrow length..

Raw = no nock? Real equals with nock? Right?

I'm going to be shooting the luma nocks (added weight)...I'm all scrambled now..I need to go back and re-read the posts...

I'm a traditional guy..I've never had a problem over the years with compounds....but I've always just added a half inch to my arrow....27.5 inch draw...28 inch arrow..I'm a mess...I need to learn more..from the reads..it looks like you guys are saying to go with a 27.5 inch arrow as well...I need to get out a tape measure and draw my bow in the man cave...I need to look at some things...stay with me...

I really want to learn the percision of all of this....I have killed many....no doubt...I just really want to learn more on this topic of balance and precision.

If you're going to be shooting Luma-Nocks, I think that makes it even more of an argument for 125 vs. 100gr tip, to keep your FOC up. And I. likewise, add a little to my arrow rather than shorten it. I believe you get a little better flight with a little longer arrow, but can't prove it other than my experience seems to trend that way. Extreme example crossbow bolt vs. 30" compound bow arrow makes it pretty obvious, but I don't think you could prove a whole lot varying 1.5" on a 26-28" arrow.
