The viper is an excellent choice, and summit has very good customer service. You have gotten good advice as to how to work the stand, but I will add that you just can' t get in too big of a hurry. It seems like I am always telling myself to slow down and take my time as I am climbing. As you get more comfortable with it, you will have the same conversation with yourself. I love my viper, and used it to take all three of my deer last year.
