Default JB Bore Paste

I am not a rep for JB nor am I a paid consultant or anything like that . . . I just wanted to share my experience with this stuff.

I thought I had clean guns - in fact, I used to brag that you could eat out of the bore! Regular cleaning with Hoppes #9, Break-Free, Butchs Bore shine, TM solutions, foaming bore cleaner, (need I go on?) made me think that my guns were clean, but this year, my 7mm wouldn't shoot like it should (only 74 rounds thru it to date). I was used to 3 shot groups of 0.281" and 5 shot groups of 0.514". This year, it was more like 1&1/2" with 3 shots and even worse with 5 shots. I got the idea to hit it with some paste and I was floored with the amount of crud that came out of the bore. I went to the range after 3 rounds of paste and the accuracy came right back! I went and cleaned all my guns with it and now am depressed. I realized that my "clean" guns were actually filthy.

If you haven't tried it yet, give it a rip - you'll be amazed at the amount of gunk that is still in your bore, even after a good cleaning. This stuff will get just about anything out of the barrel.

The question for you who know more than me: Can it be used too much? Is 1 time a year a reasonable amount?

Thanks!
