Usually open chokes work best on smoothbores,you may damage your barrel,I really dont know,but most people use more open chokes,I havent shot slugs through a gun since I was a kid and it was all I had to hunt deer with.Good luck!!
while steel is harder the lead slug at that speed will still jerk thechoke out of the barrel and ruen accarcy of the gun
