RE: to shoot or not
I agree with the consensus here...LET HIM WALK. If it's meat you are after, then shoot a doe. The meat tastes the same, plus it will help with the population. Shooting an immature buck (i.e. yearling) is not something I would consider a great accomplishment unless it was a first deer. I am not condemning those that do, and I have killed two myself (first one was my first deer after hunting for 5 consecutive years and the last one was mistaken for a doe...spikes were less than 1" and he was at 130 yards).
Makewhat you feel is a goodchoice for youso long that it is legal in your state and does not go against the landowner's/club's rules. You will be the only one that will have to live with it.
