For me, most fall within sight and that's from about 20 yards to 80 yards. I have had some go further though.......

Withagood solid double lung or heart hit you can expect between 20-80 yards depending on how fast the deer takes off. If they're spooked andtake off running, they can cover lots of ground in a few seconds. A deer hit solid through both lungscan only go so long without air so how fast it's running will determine the distance traveled. If it's hit through the heart you can expect the same as a double lung, maybe slightly longer. (there are exceptions to the rule but that's few and far between)

Now, if the hit is marginal then you probably already know the answer as to how far they can run....... and that's anywhere!
