Default RE: I saw this,,IBO ruling please

Hood,

I' m not disputing what your saying, I' m just looking for clarification for my own understanding of the situation. The title of your post, " I saw this" indicates first hand observation of all of the facts as stated. However, later in your post you state," and if this is true,,which I know this guy is faithful in his words,,I would be getting me a new Taxas rep..... " . This seems to indicate that the knowledge was recieved at least second or third hand. Also, " everyone shot it for 45 yd but it was actually 49 yd." , we know this fact because...., did someone range the animal or thats the common opinion? Further were all of the cards examined and shooters questioned to see how they scored and/or what they shot the target for?

Please understand that if in fact you personally witnessed each of these factors and know first hand how the steps were taken to try and rectify the situation, I have no reason to doubt you and would say that it sounds like someone dropped the ball on this one more than once. However, if the information comes from sources other than yourself, who may or may not know factual information, then there is room for interpretation. For an example: targets set beyond maximum distance. I personally know of targets which were set so that many individuals " knew" they were at least 5 yards beyond legal. They were wrong. I' ve seen people swear a target was too far...they were on the wrong stake.

It is entirely possible that the club in question screwed up. If that is the case I trust they are reviewing things to try and give credit where it is due. It is also possible that the information you recieved was filtered unfavorably before it got to you, and things were not as far off as they appear. Either way, I' m sure a few questions will be asked to make sure things are handled as they should be from here forward.

If the shooters were able to start the course at multiple points without tracking seperate courses or ensuring target numbers, I don' t see how anyone can say for a fact what any one individual shot on any given target.
