RE: Decided on a .270...now what make?
The best shooting gun off the rack that I've found is a Blaser R93. The trigger is amazing, not to mention the fact that it can be whatever caliber your various hunting needs might require. If that would be over your budget, I'd give a Sako 75 a hard look. Get the trigger pull lightened a bit and you'll have a fine gun.
