Default Wife is really bumming! Missed a doe...

My wife and I went out last night to the top field to try and score some does. I sat in a small cedar cluster near the driveway, and she sat just out of view about 80 yards away just beyond the old tin shed up against a tree. We had seen does crossing almost every night and were hoping to get our first archery kills. About 7:00 PM, I saw a big doe and fawn pop out to make their way across the field. I had no shot as they were about 50 yards away, but my heart was racing because they were headed directly for my wife. The fawn took a right and was a few steps ahead, the doe took a look towards the house and hooked left around the shed. About 1 minute later I hear brush crashing and I just knew she nailed her. Ten minutes later here comes Kelly waving me up to her. Apparently she saw the fawn, and was caught off guard with the big doe standing about 10-12 yards in front of her. She drew with it watching and was in such haste to get the shot off she fired the arrow right over her back. What a bummer! She is really beating herself up over it, but I told her to chalk it up as a learning experience and remember to take a little more time on the next shot. She won't be able to hunt for about 3 weeks as she goes in for carpal tunnel surgery Tuesday morning. Hopefully the end of October will see alot more deer movement and she can rectify her mistake...
