If I am interpreting your post correctly then my answr would be "yes". If there are additional string posts on either side of the one that your string is currently anchored on then they are for adjusting draw length and, indirectly, cam timing. On most perimeter weighted style single cams adjusting both strings up or down to the next corresponding string posts adjusted the draw length by approximately 1/2 of an inch.
