I won one of the deer blocks at the feed store,the one with corn,sweet feed,molasses and all that sweet stuff.I knew the coons and hogs would eat it all, so I took a 10' galvinized ground rod from work,it is a 5/8" rod.drove it into a stump till it was about the height of a deers head.then I drilled a hole 3/4 the way through the block and sat it onto the rod.thinking the deer could walk up to it and eat." WRONG" after about a week or so there was sand up the rod and sand on top of the block.????????? a day or so later,I found what it was.there was coon crap on top of the block.it was at my wifes tripod,she likes to set in it and photo the deer and birds durning the off season.she said is was quite a show watching that coon trying to climb that rod.after a few tries, he made it and sat on top of the block and started eating.

thats when I almost gave up on tring to stop them,now I just set my traps and catch 5 or 6 and thats that for the season.then we start next year.
I have a market for them,and have sold 23 this past fall,all from around my feeders.

the garbage can lid works the best.

if I find a cure for them I will patten it and sell you a copy LOL.[>:][X(]
