Don't overlook the S&W 629 (.44 mag) if you like double actions, or the single action Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter (.44 mag) and of course Freedom Arms single actions in tons of hunting calibers (including those mentioned). IMHO, .44 mag is more than adequate for deer at handgun ranges without the stiffer recoil of the .40 or .454.

Don't overlook the S&W 629 (.44 mag) if you like double actions.

This is the one I would get.
