I don' t know any type feeder that will keep coons from eating the feed.an automatic feeder will despence scratch feed for the birds,but the hogs will also eat it.you could put a hog wire fence around it,that may keep some of the birds out also unless it is a pretty good sized area.1/4 to 1/2 acer.

I would just say put up an auto. and fill it with scratch and chicken laywing mash,and let it feed what it will.

as was said,set it to feed durning the mid morning,and the coons will be in there beds.the hogs like to feed at first light and pre dark.
