Just like every other animal out there they need to be controled. Besides that reason, prarie dogs carry numerous diseases like the plague. They also desimate everything around their colony. They also will continue to dig more and more holes and if you have cattle or horses sharing tha same land they could break their legs and you wouldn' t know it for sometime while the livestock sits out there dying. They are a real nasty animal.
