If you put horses in the same category as other trophy's a wild horsehunt should cost a small fortune.
Look at the fact that there are only 30-40 thousand spread over ten states so they are more rare than a mountain lion.
Very tough terrain and inhospitable weather make a D.I.Y.S. hunt difficult at best. Most are found on private land so fee would likely be expected. Then theres packing one out, a chorebest shared withsome close personal friends .
I guesspaints could be like Cinnamon bears and considered a great score.
I'm not sure about aging a horse on the hoof but I'm positive that a localhoof hunterwould point you in the right direction.[]
