I've seen badly shot hogs run off and not be recovered after being shot with 7mm Mag. and .300 Win Mag. Have also seenhogs shot deadwith one shot from a .22LR. Shot placement is the key. No caliber or bullet will turn a gut shot into a bang flop 100% of the time.
