I don't think the new bisquits with the softer brown bristles tear up my vanes, but with the older model bisquit i did this. No more fletching contact, no speed loss and still holds arrow very secure. I just heated up a flat head screwdriver with a hand torch and melted the bristles then trimmed with moustache scissors.
