Thanks for the responses guys. I should have mentioned that the gun isn't original. It was sporterized when my grandfather bought it back in the 1960's. I already do buy cheap ammo as well, and to be honest this question was much more of a hypothetical thing that I've been thinking about for a while. I thank you all for the advice, comments, ideas. And another thanks to those that had ideas for finding ammo for cheap!
